New! Art for Children
Drop-in and pay at the courtesy counter.
Children can have fun creating masks, rain sticks and mugs from clay, as well as paint and work in mixed media during this drop-in class. Y-Arts artists Byron Nemela and Joye Opoku Ofei provide new projects each week for busy families.

Pottery – Wheel and Hand-Building
Y-Arts potter Byron Nemela demonstrates a variety of pottery projects while encouraging individual expression. The class includes extra studio time to practice on the potter’s wheel. Ages 16+.

Drawing and Painting
Increase your skills in drawing and painting. Acclaimed Detroit artist Donald Calloway will help you raise your talent level in this class for adults and teens.

African Clothing and Fashion
Design and make authentic African clothing, bags and jewelry with West African artist Joye Opoku Ofei. As you make your own fashions, you will learn about design techniques and the symbols, motifs and culture of West Africa.
